At the birthplace of animation, Nerima ward, the NERIMA ANIME CARNIVAL 2019 brings to you a program where you get to know the techniques behind an anime, and learn about the creators.

『SSSS.GRIDMAN』Animation and Special Effects
(C) Tsuburaya Productions (C) 2018 TRIGGER / Tetsu Amemiya / "GRIDMAN" Production Committee
SSSS.GRIDMAN aired on TV from October to December 2018 and captured the hearts of anime and special effects fans. It is still an animation, but the production team was particular about the use of “special effects”; making this a hot topic of discussion. This event will explore the value of “Anime and Special Effects [Tokusatsu]” that were cultivated by this series.

TV anime "Aim for the Ace! " 26th episode (final episode) and" Black Jack (OVA)" will be screened.

This event focused on director Dezaki Osamu who left a great footprint in the Japanese anime world.
A TV anime series, “Aim for the Ace!” Episode 26 (final story) and a series of Osamu Tezuka’s masterpiece, “Black Jack (OVA)” will be screened. This is a stage where you can look back on the the craftsmanship of master Osamu Dezaki and his work, and learn how this has influenced the animation industry.

A student-produced work from Nihon University College of Art will be screened with a guided talk. Kenta Nomura, who is from the school and is now a full-time lecturer at the school's film department, will be in charge of the guide talk. Mr. Nomura is a student of Director Nao Katazaki, and participated in the movie “My Mai Shinko and the Magic of a Thousand Years” (09) during his student years. Furthermore, he has taken on an active role as a special drawing and production assistant for the movies “In this corner of the world” (16) and “In This Corner of the World -extended-” (19).
